Another new 40k Meta Monday is here, and it’s starting to look *checks notes* balanced? What does this mean for Space Marines and Ad Mech headed into the WCW Golden Ticket grind?
Today, we’ll take a look at the biggest events from the weekend: The Glasshamer GT – October (WTC Terrain, 32 players) and Battle For Salvation GT 2025 (GW Terrain, 146 players)
The new Warhammer balance dataslate just flipped the table a bit on the competitive scene. Here’s the straight talk on which changes actually matter for the top Warhammer Army Lists heading into this 40k Meta Monday.
Latest Meta Monday 40k Army Lists
This week’s Meta Monday 40k served up a rare sight: balance in the 10th Edition meta! Necrons ditched their bricks for sleek killing efficiency, while Tyranids reminded everyone that endless bugs are still nightmare fuel.
Plus, Space Marines and Ad Mech may be lurking just off the podium, so don’t count them out yet.
Necrons Wake Up for Glasshammer GT
Run it back to the top cut of LGT two weeks ago for Andy Quas-Cohen’s list. He definitely took this Necron list through its paces on UKTC terrain and is now proving it on WTC terrain as well.
Andy Quas-Cohen’s Starshatter Arsenal
This is point-for-point the same list Andy just took to the LGT, and it looks like he’s still happy with how it’s performing.
The list tosses aside the traditional Necron “bricks” (Wraiths / Warriors) for tons of efficient datasheets. One of the strong points of Necrons right now is their trash, and he took a lot of it here.
With the meta evolving and becoming much faster and more deadly, the larger bricks of Necron units can often present a vulnerability in trading rather than an impossible-to-overcome wall of steel.
Three Doomsday Arks and The Silent King hold it down for the army overall.
Tyranids Devour Their Opposition: Battle for Salvation
Another form of cheap model regeneration has hit the meta, and it’s not Necrons or Guard this time.
Samuel Pope’s Tyranid Invasion Fleet
Sam came out with the Tyranid version of body spam, and no one was able to handle it.
The Tervigon is critical here, coupled with the Invasion Fleet Strategem Endless Swarm, that’s two separate instances of D3+3 OC2 bodies being spawned per command phase, on top of lethal hits across 80 dirt cheap troops. They can also get a 5+ Feel No Pain from strats as well!
The triple Exocrines destroying anyone that comes out to deal with the efficient swarms proved impossible to overcome for any opponent.
There’s more support for the Termagants as well, with the Venomthropes giving them all an aura of Cover and Stealth, making them wildly difficult to deal with outside of combat.
This list feels like how Tyranids are expected to overrun you, just constantly being harder to kill than you’d expect and more annoying from layers of buffs.
Final Thoughts on Warhammer 10th Edition Meta Army Lists
Looks like the dust is finally starting to settle on the 40k Meta Monday, and the 10th Edition Warhammer might actually be finding its footing. Necrons are back to shining with cold efficiency, and the Tyranids are doing what they do best, burying everything under a mountain of regenerating bugs.
We’ll be keeping an eye on Space Marines (Raven Guard) and Ad Mech, though, while trends evolve. They’re clearly making an impact on the current meta, but for hobby reasons, may be suppressing their overall dominance at the current moment.
