Where to Find Warhammer 40k Commemorative Series and Exclusive Miniatures
Tracking down these rare minis is half the adventure. For those not lucky enough to grab them directly from a Warhammer store or event, there’s always the secondary market. The scarcity of these models drives demand, and prices can skyrocket as soon as a model is no longer available directly from Games Workshop.
Most of these Games Workshop-exclusive Warhammer miniatures were usually hard to get ahold of (all over the world). So, if you have been thinking about it, you may want to grab one of these minis if you still see them available on shelves. Fortunately, we still found most of these Warhammer commemorative series for sale on Amazon or eBay, but who knows how long they will be available?
Websites like Amazon and eBay are teeming with collectors offering these exclusive Warhammer miniatures for sale—often at a premium. Snag your new Warhammer 40k exclusives and give us a high-five in support! Every qualifying purchase helps Spikey Bits keep the lights on and the fun going.
Unexpected Exclusives Returned in 2024
This time, it looks like Games Workshop re-released some models that were pandemic-era favorites out of nowhere that are nearly impossible to find at a reasonable price anymore. From the looks of it, even if stores renew their lease, that may count as a store opening, which allows it to sell even more exclusives than just a typical anniversary event, which seems to be the case for locations like the Pinecrest Pointe Warhammer store.
Those two miniatures will not be free, but you can only score them at openings or store anniversaries. However, if you spend above certain thresholds, you will also get a bunch of swag for free (well, free since you already spent cash). If you’re going big (over $400), you can score all kinds of swag, including a bag, pins, and more. From the advertisement, it looks like you can also score these older exclusives that we thought were relegated to the secondary market at New Store Openings in 2024.
- Ripper Jackson
- Berek the Indomitable
- Leena Stormspire
- Primaris Sergeant Jovan
Be sure to look for the Invocation of the Elements and Brakki of the Gilded Key miniatures at your local GW store whenever their anniversary is. If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on some of the unexpected exclusives, such as Ripper Jackson or Berek the Indomitable, you’ll have some rare and unique additions to your collection that are over five years old!
2024 Miniature Lineup
Da Red Gobbo Returns With an A-bomb-inable Snowman
Each year, as winter nights grow long and snowflakes fall, the Red Gobbo pulls on his fur-trimmed jacket and heads out to spread some seasonal mischief. It just wouldn’t be Grotmas without a miniature capturing his festive antics, and this year’s model is a real treat. Meet the “A-bomb-inable Snowman”—yes, they went there.
Tzarketh, Bane of Law—A Chaos Sorcerer to Lose Your Mind Over
Tzarketh, Bane of Law, is the star of Warhammer Day 2024’s festivities, and this Chaos Sorcerer doesn’t mess around. Decked out in furs, adorned with trinkets that scream “stay away,” and wielding a staff that probably channels unspeakable powers, Tzarketh embodies the most sinister aspects of a Chaos Sorcerer. His presence on the battlefield is bad news for any would-be heroes, as he can serve as a Chaos Sorcerer Lord for your Slaves to Darkness armies in the Age of Sigmar.
Combat Patrol Magazine Infernus Sergeant
Warhammer+ Plus 2024 Miniatures: 40k Commemorative Series Inquisitor Ostromandeus
In the shadowy corridors of the Imperium, where conspiracy theories are gospel and heretics outnumber recaf vendors, Inquisitor Ostromandeus strides with the confidence of someone who’s had to incinerate one too many cultists before his first meal of the day.
Of course, Ostromandeus doesn’t work alone. Meet Stentor-I-52, a walking loudspeaker who can unleash sermons that could crack a cathedral’s stained glass. There’s also the floating Vox Skull, hovering nearby to capture every stern monologue Ostromandeus delivers. Honestly, it’s more like a podcast for the damned. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be verbally berated by someone who can back it up with holy fire, Stentor-I-52 is here to give you that experience.
Warhammer+ Plus 2024 Miniatures: Marshal Ashfield and Squire Udo
Over in the Mortal Realms, Marshal Ashfield is the poster child of battlefield elegance—if your idea of elegance includes heavy armor, a brace of pistols, and a perpetual look of determination. He’s not the type to lead from the back. Ashfield’s the kind of Freeguild Marshal who gets right into the thick of it, blade swinging and pistols blazing. The man’s got flair, alright—more decorations and medals than he knows what to do with, but he wears them like a second skin.
But let’s not forget Squire Udo, the unsung hero of this duo. While Ashfield might be front and center, rallying troops with a war cry, Udo’s back there mumbling to himself, lugging around every potion, unguent, and tincture you could imagine.
Invocation of the Elements- Tau Miniature: Warhammer World & Stores Exclusive
This miniature for Tau will stand out from your other Ethereals! If you play Tau, this will be worth picking up (or at least thinking about it).
Brakki of the Gilded Key- Fyreslayer Miniature: Warhammer World & Stores Exclusive
If you need a dwarf with a key, GW has you covered with this model! While not the most dynamically posed miniature, he should be a good addition to your army.
The Hunter Strikes: 40k Commemorative Series Event Exclusive Miniature
Kroot finally got a rework, so it only makes sense they also received an exclusive miniature. Like most years, this was first available at AdeptiCon 2024.
AoS Exclusive Miniature: Steel Rook
This guy is so heavily armored he should be able to walk through the fires of the Realms of Sigmar without any issues. The Steel Rook has some cool little details, but don’t worry; they put a bird on it, too!
Killaboss Zagnog Games Workshop 89-79: Commemorative AoS Miniatures
In celebration of the upcoming new edition of AoS, GW has two commemorative Age of Sigmar minis that you can score for free, well sort of…
For all those Orruk players, you’ll be excited to see that Killaboss Zagnog Sku Number Games Workshop 89-79 is one of the two celebratory minis available. The backbone of the Kruleboys is here, fitted with his Boss-hakka and skareshield. Like most of the commemorative minis, he has a ton of detail but isn’t a specific character. That way, you can use him for a bunch of battlefield roles.
Knight-Arcanum Mordern Tzane: Commemorative AoS Miniature
Joining the Killaboss is the noble Knight-Arcanum Mordern Tzane, wielding his Valedictor’s Staff and the beginnings of a celestial blaze.
2023 Miniature Lineup: Warhammer World Exclusives & Commemorative Minis
Warhammer World Exclusives- Yôht Grendok
While this doesn’t have special rules, you can obviously play him as a Kahl. It still has a tactical rock, so it fits in with the rest of the army.
Torrk Lennsen: Warhammer Stores Exclusive 2023
This model is ready for battle with his heavy armor, giant hammer, and multiple head options.
Abhorrant Ghoul King Warhammer Boxing Day 2022 (Released in 2023) Miniature
The miniature is pretty cool, and who doesn’t want a Ghoul King sitting on a throne? Also was technically announced in 2022, but dropped in 2023.
The Commissar’s Duty: Warhammer 40k Commemorative Series Event-Exclusive Miniature for 2023
He’s got a whole tactical rock to stand on with both feet! Seriously though, this is a pretty cool model, and while it’s a little static, it should be striking on the battlefield.
Tolgar Split-Eye: Event-Exclusive Miniature for 2023
This guy is a lot more dynamic and, with those giant axes, should be a good addition to your forces.
AdeptiCon was the first place to score this, but it was at plenty of events throughout that year.
Warhammer+ Plus 2023 Miniatures: 40k Commemorative Series Unbroken Kasrkin
“Unbroken” represents a veteran Kasrkin standing at ease for Warhammer 40k, based on some older Karl Kopinski artwork.
2023 Warhammer+ Plus Miniatures: Karlina Von Carstein
This was big news for all the Sylvania fans out there. Like all the Warhammer+ exclusives, this hit the secondary market for not horrible prices.
Warhammer Day 2023 Exclusive 40k Miniature: The Ancestors’ Wrath
The Einhyr Champion is already a fantastic model, but it’s always nice to have a different pose you can throw down on the table! The kit comes with extra heads and is quite striking on the tabletop.
Holiday Mini: Da Grotmas Gitz!
This is a cool mini with tons of unique little details! Plus, it’s hard not to get into the holiday spirit when looking at this because… Squig and Night Goblin!
Holiday Mini: Da Red Gobbo
If you’ve been good, Da Red Gobbo might find it in his little heart to bring you a present! But if you’ve been mean to any Grots, he might just blow you up instead!
2022 Miniature Lineup
Exclusive Inquisitor Erasmus Cartavolnus
This is honestly pretty cool, with the huge flame exploding from the book and the giant sword. While the pose itself isn’t super dynamic, all the extra pieces of flair make up for it.
Exclusive Gutrippa Boss Haggok
He’s not the most exciting model, but still pretty cool. If for nothing other than the vulture!
Limited Edition Horus Heresy: Fafnir Rann
He wades into battle with not one but TWO axes! This is just a great-looking miniature with plenty of flavor.
Limited Edition Horus Heresy: Dominion Zephon
With a sword that giant, you know he’s going to cut through plenty of traitors!
Event Exclusive Primaris Company Champion
While this exclusive Space Marines Primaris company champion doesn’t have a set role in regular 40k games, it would make for a ton of really cool proxies, and since it’s a GW product, nobody can hassle you for it. It’s an interesting mini, but not the wildest thing we’ve ever seen.
Event Exclusive Swampcalla Shaman
Everyone loves exclusive miniatures from Games Workshop, sometimes because getting them is such an adventure!
Bayard’s Revenge: Warhammer Day Exclusive Mini
This is one of the most dynamic exclusives we’ve seen, and if you want a model to really be your army’s centerpiece, this is hard to beat!
Operative Umbral-Six Warhammer+ Year 1 Mini
Two Warhammer+ Exclusive miniatures showed up in hobbyists’ collections in 2022, one for AoS and this stunning diorama below:
This model was the first revealed for Warhammer +, and it definitely caught people’s attention. You can find it on the secondary market pretty often still.
Bazdrogg Neck Choppa Warhammer+ Year 1 Mini
The AoS model was also awesome and giant!
Mibyllorr Darkfang Warhammer+ Year 2 Mini
Also hitting the secondary market in 2022 were the exclusive Warhammer+ Year 2 Miniatures.
If you need to add some magic to your forces, you can’t go wrong with Darkfang!
Azrakh the Annihilator Warhammer+ Year 2 Miniature
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! What else do you need to know?
2021 Miniature Lineup
Uriel Ventris Space Marines Black Library Celebration Miniature
The Black Library Preview events usually feature 90% new books, but a brand new Uriel Ventris Primaris space marines model (with a reworked head) arrived in 2021.
Kamoteph the Crooked: Warhammer Store-Exclusive Miniature
Warhammer store-exclusive miniatures in 2021, started with Kamoteph the Crooked!
Kamoteph the Crooked was the exclusive miniature Necrons and 40k. He’s considered ancient even by Necron standards, he may not be fast but he sure is cunning!
Sylas Beastbane: Warhammer Store-Exclusive Miniature
For AoS, there was this Stormcast mini called Sylas Beastbane. If you ask us, the mini seems very appropriately named. He is armed with the Questor Axe hammer.
Holga Clovenhorn: Warhammer Open & Event-Exclusive Miniature
Warhammer Open and event-exclusive miniatures for 2021, started with Holga Clovenhorn!
Holga Clovenhorn, Aspiring Champion of Chaos was the model for the AoS side of things. It’s honestly a pretty cool mini, while the pose is static, the detail on the rest of it makes up for it.
Necron Lord Hasmoteph: Warhammer Open & Event-Exclusive Miniature
Necron Lord Hasmoteph, the Resplendent, filled the slot for 40k. Necrons grabbed a lot of exclusives in 2021. The sculpt isn’t anything too special, but having exclusive minis is always a plus for any faction.
Primaris Space Marines Sergeant Castus Miniature: 1 Million Customer Mini
This was “Free” as long as you spent $240 in the online store or £150.
Primaris Lieutenant With Storm Shield: Warhammer Day 2021 Exclusive Miniature
Who doesn’t need another Lieutenant in their army? Well, if you’re already overflowing, get used to it!
Anasta Malkorion: Warhammer Day 2021 Exclusive Miniature
Stores didn’t get the Space Marine but did get this one, meaning there might be more on the secondary market.
Da Red Gobbo & Bounca: Holiday Miniature
Orks are always a holiday favorite, and 2021 was no exception!
Nothing is more jolly and in the Christmas spirit than a Red Gobbo and his candy-cane theme stick of dynamite, or at least so we’re told.
Bawla & Burk: Warhammer World & Store Exclusive Miniature
These exclusive miniatures were available from December 26th – January 2nd in local Warhammer stores. But we’re classifying them in 2021!
The mini is pretty cool but nothing too crazy and not nearly as festive as the Red Gobbo (they even did a coin for him)! Still, if you play Orruks, it’s hard to complain about new minis. As always, and yes, we mean always, the goblin is way better than the giant green guy standing above him.
2020 Miniature Lineup
Event Exclusive: Dacian Anvil
He was supposed to be released at 2020’s Adepticon, but since that got canceled, Dacian popped up much later.
In-store Exclusive: Sergeant Ripper Jackson
This was the first bit of love Catachans had gotten in a while from GW, well, other than the Colonel. This originally was going to be an in-store exclusive mini, but GW also made her MTO on the site for a while. If you’re lucky, you may be able to find one on the secondary market.
Exclusive MTO Librarian Terminator
After GW’s third online preview, he was announced as an MTO with two weeks of open ordering before they produced and shipped them out. Obviously, it took a while to get this guy, but hobbyists eventually got it!
Exclusive MTO: Sisters Tariana Palos
This new Sister took everyone by surprise as we had no idea GW was even working on more exclusive models for the faction. However, this Sister is posed just like the famous artwork we’ve seen over and over through the years.
In-game, she’s just a normal Sister, so you could make her the position of a Sergeant in your force, but that’s about it.
Store Exclusive Model: Catachan Colonel
This one went for crazy money on the secondary market and, unfortunately, still is… If you managed to grab this one up, nice work! It was a store exclusive that had a bungled release and just dove the price for this little guy through the roof.
Warhammer Day 2020 Miniature: Chaplain in Terminator Armor
Chaplain Tarentus was available in stores and online during Warhammer Day itself.
Christmas Model: Jakkob Bugmansson XI
The 2020 Christmas model took on the appearance of a Kharadron overlord brewmaster! It looks perfect with not so much going on that it’ll fit right into your army if you chose to field it.
Commemorative Model: Gorzag & Nikkit
While not a Christmas model, these guys were a “Commemorative Model” back in 2020. They were first available to Warhammer stores from December 26th until January 3rd, followed by a release online through GW’s website. Some local game stores also received them. Howevew, you cannow find them on the secondary market.

2019 Miniature Lineup
Primaris Lieutenant Amulius
Lieutenant Amulius is easy to build (ETB) and was seen at the 2019 Adepticon as a surprise exclusive Warhammer miniature!
While he’s a normal Primaris Lieutenant on the tabletop, his model is definitely sweet and puts off a generic codex-Astartes vibe. If you still want to pick this guy up, he can sometimes be found on Amazon, too.
Severina Raine
This fine cast mini was released as the Black Library Celebration mini of 2019. She is an uncompromising Commissar who has been through hundreds of battles and helped retake the worlds of the Bale Star.
Primaris Sergeant Jovan
This guy was another store exclusive for 40k in 2019. And while he may be a Primaris, he’s actually not a Lieutenant. He’s got one of the more dynamic posing/bases that we’ve seen in terms of Primaris characters so far. At the end of the day, he’ll make a fantastic (insert T4 HQ here) for any Chapter.
Warhammer 40k Commemorative Series Sister of Battle: Amalia Novena
Technically, the first plastic Sisters of Battle miniature, as she was the store-exclusive on June 29th 2019’s Warhammer Day celebration, about six months before the faction returned in an Army box on Black Friday 2019. The best part is that she’s a fully multipart plastic kit, and isn’t Easy-to-Build!
Valerian & Aleya
Another release coming from the Black Library Celebration! These two are from the Watchers of the Throne series and even had some interesting (if underwhelming) rules to use them as named characters in your games.
As an eBay Partner, we may be compensated if you make a purchase using the links in this guide.
Leena Stormspire: Warhammer World & Stores Exclusive 2019
Stormcast was a hero that was only available for store openings, refurbishments, or relocations. Rocking a shield and sword, she opted for a more tanky loadout over her battle brother, Berek.
Berek the Indomitable: Warhammer World & Stores Exclusive
Berek the Indomitable is a Stormcast that specializes in damage. With a big two-handed hammer, he doesn’t need to try to block anything. Like Leena, he’s posed standing over the top of a Greenskin he’s just slaughtered. It looks like he literally batted the torso off on an Orruk and ran over to go stand on it for the classic “Captain Morgan hero pose.”
Really, though, we can’t blame him.
Larissa Shadowstalker: Warhammer World & Stores Exclusive
Larissa Shadowstalker is a Knight-Questor armed with a stormstrike glaive. She’s on foot and doesn’t have a shield, so, in terms of in-game rules, she’s not the most high-speed low-drag option.
