Love GW miniatures? Well, the new release roadmap is back and more loaded than ever. And we mean loaded, there are a ton of minis on the way!
GW New Releases Roadmap For September & Beyond
First off if you missed the lastest few previews from GW, you may want to get caught up on those from our coverage below:
- GW Dead & Divine
- GW Mortal Realms
- Faith & Damnation
- Warhammer Fest 2021
- GW AoS 3.0 Dominion
- GW AoS 3.0 Dominion Celebration
And now on to the new releases for 2021 and beyond!
9 New Stormcast Kits (so far)
Knight-Judicator with Gryph-hounds

The Stormcast have decent ranged options already, so it will be interesting to see what this archer-hound combo can bring to army lists.
Stormstrike Chariot

The chariot not only looks dope but actually hinted at potential bonuses to charge and maybe even debuffing enemies! We will just have to wait and see.
5 More New Stormcast Revealed
Lord-Commander Bastian Carthalos

GW’s hint at this model’s mechanics is interesting at the very least. Could it be a ranged attack? or perhaps a special ability or spell? We will just have to wait and see.

Knights-Relictor

There isn’t much to go off for the Knights-Relictor, but another support piece is always welcome, especially with such an expansive roster that they have.
Vanquishers

These are kinda reminiscent of a Stormcast version of the old-school empire greatswords, which were dope AF, so that makes these pretty fresh as well!

Vigilors

Multi Part Annihilators

Krondys, Son of Dracothion
An integral member of Sigmar’s inner circle, Krondys is majestic, wise, and immensely powerful. Already among the most magically potent beings in the Mortal Realms, Krondys also bears the Regalia Fulmentaris around his neck – a piece of armour that magnifies his substantial magical abilities.
So, not only is this giant and will probably do all kinds of melee damage, but it is also a spell caster, so should be quite the powerful character. The only thing will be points cost, if it’s just insanely high like Kragnos, not sure how many armies will find room for it. The model itself is pretty cool with plenty of detail and will really stand out on the tabletop.
Karazai the Scarred

Since this one is not specifically for Sigmar, there may be a chance it can be used by other armies as well, which would be super fun. Plus, we assume it will be quite the monster in melee and maybe gets stronger when it gets too low enough wounds. Just a guess but could be fun and flavorful.
More Age of Sigmar Stormcast Dragons Incoming

The dragon does definitely have a different look than the old aesthetic, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Either way, it looks like Stormcast is not done getting new units quite yet. But this might finally be the last release for now.

How cool would it be to have an entire dragon army? Might not be super competitive, but who cares, you have an army of dragons!
Stormdrake Guard

50% OFF: Order Yours Now!
It looks like they will be releasing this in a kit where you can build either option, much like the previous dragons as well. Overall both variations look cool and it would just be fun to see a full dragon army on the table.
8 New Kruleboyz Orruks Units That We Know About
Beast-skewer Killbow

Breaka-boss on Mirebrute Troggoth

5 More New Kruleboyz Coming After Dominion
Swampboss Skumdrekk

This is a new monster/mount model which is always exciting, but the fact that a box is on top means he will also probably be a decent support and combat piece.

Snatchaboss on Sludgeraker Beast

While this is technically the same model, it is a new character in the form of a generic one, hopefully meaning he’ll be a little cheaper but still have much of the essence of what the model wants to accomplish.
Marshcrawla Sloggoth

From the sounds of the GW description, it sounds like this will be a tanky unit that can potentially punish units and heal. Depending on how it works in-game, this could be a serious pain for your opponents!
Multi Part Gutrippaz
Forming the core of the Kruleboyz battlelines, the Gutrippaz have a new weapon option to go with their vicious stikkas.
These sadistic greenskins are well known to be spiteful and kunnin’, and they can overwhelm unsuspecting enemies through sheer weight of numbers
As the first of two Kruleboyz Dominion kits to be confirmed for separate box releases, these will get extra poses, bringing way more diversity in your army than wouldn’t be possible if you just spammed the Dominion box versions.
Multi Part Man-skewer Boltboyz
Alongside them are the Man-skewer Boltboyz with a new Boltboy Boss option.

New Kruleboyz Gobsprakk, the Mouth of Mork Revealed!

If he can beat a Lord of Change, we expect his arcane prowess to be insane! Plus the mini is just pretty awesome all around that looks like it will be quite giant and tower over the tabletop.

When you get close to the details, this is really cool. While some people don’t like the new aesthetic, this one is pretty cool.
Alternate Version of the Kit

Save Money On All These Alternative Miniatures
It’s always cool to get two versions from one kit. So if you don’t want the named character, you can just make a character on top of the mount instead.
6 New Age of Sigmar 3.0 Battletomes: Rumors & Previews

Maggotkin

We’ve also seen some Rumor Engines that hint toward some Nurgle-looking hints. So, if you play them, be on the lookout for an announcement soon.
Gloomspite Gitz

We’re not sure what new minis they will get, as their model line isn’t that old. Still, they will probably get a new champion or two, or at least a couple of reworks.
Ogors

A large portion of their units is from before the change over to AoS, meaning they haven’t been touched in years and years. This could be a massive overhaul, or if GW doesn’t feel like it, maybe they just redo a unit or two. Let’s just hope that’s not the case!
Beasts of Chaos

So, yeah, they need a rework and new minis! Maybe they and Ogors can come in a new starter box together with all new minis! One can dream, but according to these rumors, we don’t have that long to wait until we know for sure

Now that it’s confirmed, let’s check out the details!
RUMORS New Bundle Box Sets Coming to Age of Sigmar

Next up will be Start Collecting for Ogors, with Ossiarch Bonereapers getting the box after that. Slaves to Darkness are also getting some love in the way of an upgrade sprue (like the Cadian one) and brand new Chosen.
Lastly, we’re not sure about the box, but the upcoming Oath Breakers (Chaos Dwarves) will be kicking off the “Broken Realms” of the new edition, but that’s supposedly not coming until 2023.
Gloomspite Gitz vs Beasts of Chaos

While that’s nice, Beasts of Chaos will be getting a whole host of new minis! They will be getting three new minis, Doombull, Bullgor, and Jabberslythe. All three of those kits really need a rework (not to mention everything they have).
Start Collecting Ogors
According to the rumors, they will be getting a new box along with their upcoming new book. In that, they will grab a new plastic Slaughtermaster/Butcher. This is great because they’ve needed an update for a long time. Not sure if they will be grabbing other new minis or not, but at least they can look forward to one new one for sure.
Ossiarch Bonereapers

Slaves to Darkness

But remember, these are all rumors after all…
Umbraneth

Well, he needs an army to lead, so we expect them to be kind of like dark elves in a sense. We haven’t seen any minis, but this looks like GW has been setting them up for a long time now. If you want to read more about the initial time we thought they were coming, check that out here.
According to this new rumor though, these will be near the end of 2022.
Oath Breakers

They have some really cool old minis to style the new army on and with the sculpts GW has been putting out, they could look amazing! Unfortunately, according to the rumors, they won’t be hitting the game until 2023…
2 New Exclusive GW Miniatures Announced for Tournament Series

Exclusive GW Anniversary Miniatures For 2021:
Plus we even have two more miniatures coming in 2021 with the Store Anniversary models that were revealed in early January.
Both of these models will only be sold through Warhammer stores on their appointed anniversaries, but don’t worry about stock running out – if your store runs out, you can order the miniatures at the till and we’ll ship them right to the store for you to pick up.
Some hobbyists may see opening time disruptions due to the global situation, so your store’s celebration might be on a different day than it normally would. But don’t worry – everyone will still have their chance to get these celebratory models.
Kamoteph the Crooked is the new mini coming for the Necrons and 40k. He’s considered ancient even by Necron standards, he may not be fast but he sure is cunning! They also say that these will be basically unlimited stock. Even if they don’t have any in the store, as long as you order it in the first week, they’ll get you a mini, let’s hope that holds true.
For AoS we’ll be getting a new Stormcast mini this year, Sylas Beastbane. If you ask us, the mini seems very appropriately named. He is armed with the new Questor Axe-hammer which allows him to strike an additional time against anyone he hits.
Warhammer 40k Codex Roadmap Revealed to 2022!
Eagle-eyed heretics** may note the lack of codexes for the Traitor Legions. Do not despair, as 2022 will be a bumper year for warp-based shenanigans.
Obviously, we recently saw Grey Knights and Thousand Sons. If you missed out on the Beast Snagga box, you are in luck as September will see the full release of the codex. We assume they are giving the month to them alone because it could also be when all the new miniatures go live as well.
So if you’ve been waiting patiently (not very Orky of you though), you don’t have much longer to go. We’re happy it’s coming soon because a lot of people missed out on the box. November will be Black Templars, and by the sounds of it, they may be getting much more than just the Emperor’s Champion.
What Could be Coming Next?

So first up, these are the generic art they use for Xenos and Imperial armies, so not too much to look into there. We have heard some rumors of Eldar coming soon with all three of the factions in one book (Craftworlds, Harlequins, and Ynnari).
This would make sense in a way because it could knock out three Xenos armies in one go and Eldar has traditionally received their codex very early on in new editions (not that it’s that early…). Other than that, Tyranids could very well see a book with them taking center stage in the new Charadon book. In a weird way though, we hope they don’t because it would probably mean not many updated minis.

New Black Templars Primaris Emperor’s Champion!

Well, this is definitely Primaris sized, just like we had hoped. The new mini is honestly really cool without totally changing the look and feel of the original. Plus who doesn’t love them a tactical rock too boot!

They definitely added a lot of detail this time around, this might be the only new mini they grab, but it’s better than nothing.
Size Comparison

The size is quite bigger and just makes this poor old Champion look a bit shrimpy. Now your Champion doesn’t have to be smaller than all those pesky Primaris!
Black Templars Codex Cover Art Reveals Upcoming Units

We haven’t seen a revamp for them in a really long time, and we know GW doesn’t like to make artwork for things you can’t buy.
True heirs of Sigismund may notice that the gentleman in the middle has distinctly black-and-red shoulder pads, which mark him out as one of the elite Sword Brethren. But doesn’t he also appear to be wearing the armour of a Primaris Space Marine? How curious.
So, along with the new Champion, we expect some new Sword Brethren hitting shelves and in the launch box. The other Marines in the front are just Primaris. So we can expect at least that, but could there be more?
Now let’s check out the new reveals!
Black Templars Are Getting More Tools To Purge

You might have noticed that the pyreblaster comes complete with a chain attaching it to the warrior’s wrist in the traditional manner of the Black Templars – perhaps that’s a hint at what else is on the way. Or maybe this particular chap is just prone to misplacing his belongings.
It is worth noting that the chain is also present on the Emperor’s champion, which suggests a slight thematic adjustment, and can be spotted throughout the older firstborn upgrade kits from the mid-2000s.
That’s not all with this new reveal though, they also showed off the new weapons statline.

All the Latest on the New Black Templars
Perhaps even a Templars release could see this new Blade Guard model too?
New Space Marines Bladeguard Hidden In Plain Sight

From this image it looks to have bits and pieces that don’t appear anywhere else, however, this could still be a conversion. This model that seems to be hidden in plain sight is a variation of a Bladeguard Veteran, or as we said above perhaps even a character model.
it also appears to be the only Space Marine spotted looking at the camera in the spread across pages 46 and 47 in the new Orks codex. Note the other Bladeguard models in the fore:

Perhaps this is all pointing to a Blade Guard Captain multipart kit release? It could also be a new Space Marine Lieutenant to add to your growing Lieutenant army that surely is nearing 20 models by now! Then again it could also just be a clever conversion by Games Workshop to get people talking as well!
RUMORS: New Plastic Horus Heresy Starter Set Pics Spotted!
What appear to be pictures of a new Plastic two-player Horus Heresy set featuring a Contemptor Dreadnought along with a Spartan Tank have surfaced on Reddit.

And why wouldn’t they? It’s literally worth millions of dollars in sales for them to do so…
Plus new rumors are even saying the release date on this set may have been moved up, and the Spartan may actually be a dual kit- which would be pretty neat!
New Horus Heresy Imperial Fists Praetors Revealed!

If you want to see just how well you can slay some Iron Warriors, these are the minis to do it with!

These are on pre-order and will ship on September 3rd, 2021.

New Horus Heresy Argel Tal Mini Teased!

Unfortunately, the Word Bearers’ Chaplain Erebus had his own plans for Khârn and got rather jealous of the burgeoning friendship. After much arching of fingers and dastardly scheming, he split Argel Tal and Khârn up before they got to take the road trip to Terra they had been planning.
New Sons of Horus Praetor Confirmed by GW!

The mini is honestly pretty cool even if the posing isn’t super dynamic. When you compare it to the Imperial Fists one, it is similar but not quite as action posed. Since they already have the kits ready to go, we hope they come out soon, but GW did say they will be coming later this year.
With no real date given, we expect a release within the quarter. If you were one of the people who received the Praetor, you can either keep it or contact Customer Service to get a replacement.
New Ultramarine Praetors

All the New 40k Orks & Beast Snagga Models So Far:

Their appreciation for ‘da old ways’, and their disregard for more complex Orky technology, leads many of the Snakebite clan to become Beast Snaggas, although their ilk can be found across the entire spectrum of Ork society.** Even a no-nonsense Goff can look at a squighog’s shockingly large teeth and figure out how best to apply them to some poor git’s face.
New Characters

New Beast Snagga 40k Orks Revealed by GW!

It looks like they’ll be a little stronger than a normal boy, with the possibility of some more gear as well. With them being constantly enhanced by the Doks, who knows what little upgrades you can give them. Since they say more than once, they are less common, we’re guessing they’ll be a decent amount higher in points than a regular boy. We’ll have to wait for more for points and rules, but we’re excited to see them!
Beast Snagga 40k Ork Painboss

The mini is really sweet! Looks like the line will be pretty fleshed out, let’s just hope we’ll see more in the coming days. If you’re constantly handling big nasty beasts, it only makes sense you need someone to give you some sweet upgrades when your legs are ripped off… We’ll have to wait and see how fast these legs make them, but let’s hope it’s a decent speed buff for not too many points. They also mention the Klaw is lighter and smaller than the normal Power Klaw, so it will probably be cheaper but not as strong.

GW Confirms New Ork Boyz
Speaking of rumours and legends, some of you with the eyes of skilled Tanith marksmen noted something unusual on the new Gaunt’s Ghosts box at the weekend. Are those new Ork Boyz pictures fighting the Cadian Shock Troops on the back of the box? Yes, they are! We’ll save you squinting at a grainy pic, here is one of da new Boyz in all their glory. First Beast Snaggas and now new Boyz – 2021 looks like the year to be green…
This is the new pic from GW. So now we have a blurry vision from the back of the Gaut’s Ghosts box and now one of the boyz models from the front!
They have a very similar feel to the old Orks (hooray), but do have some nice updates. This is the only pic they released, for now, so we’ll have to wait and see what the whole box will end up looking like.
They didn’t give much about the release date either, so we’ll have to wait for the next Orks preview for more. Now let’s check out the news about the Great White Squig and Morzog.
Kill Rig

Bursting into the front lines is right! That squig is CHONKY. Clearly, it’s got the muscles to back up the size of pulling a loading trailer twice its size! It would definitely be unfortunate to be in front of this squig.

They also gave a hint at a special rule by powering up the psyker’s powers who ride on top. This could potentially be pretty important depending on how good some of the spells are and if you just need that one super psyker to shine.
Hunta Rig

While this might be more or less expensive, it is definitely the same kit, meaning it will hopefully make for an interesting list and hobby decision on which to build! Mobile weapon platforms tend to be better all-round but sometimes a powered-up character can really turn the tables!
Beastboss

Of course with this new sub-faction, a new Boss needs to lead them! We expected this guy and it’s great he looks so good to hype up the new themes in the faction.

Gargant Head Kommand Center
Taking the severed head of a Gargant as their boss hut is not only a symbol of status, it also provides a convenient forward command centre from which to yell at the Boyz.
Mozgrod Skragbad and Big Chompa

When you ride something as mythical as the Great White Squigg, you are basically an Ork Primarch, but maybe Ghazgkull will still reign king as the biggest and baddest Ork.

Power level aside, this is sure to be a hard-hitting machine that loves to charge into melee combat. It also looks like it might be a great center beast for a Beast Snagga force.
Beastboss on Squigosaur

On the other hand, you can go for a more vanilla boss, on top of a giant squig of course. At the very least he is bound to be a little cheaper on the points side.
New 40k Ork Wurrboyz Psykers Revealed by GW!

Looks like GW thought Orks needed more psychic support, and we’re excited about it! The model is pretty simple while still looking great with dynamic posing. They mention it will have more than one power, but only showed one so far. Still, it’s pretty interesting.
GW Reveals Exclusive New Minis for Warhammer+

New AT Warmaster Iconoclast Heavy Battle Titan Revealed!
The Warmaster Titan towers above most of these engines of destruction, bristling with armaments and malice. What can you even hope to do if one of these gigantic war machines attacks your hab block?
If your hab block is getting attacked by one of these, maybe hiding under a desk is the best way to go because what else are you going to do?
Meet the Warmaster Iconoclast Heavy Battle Titan. At 100 tons of ruinous energy, the Iconoclast is all about barrelling into the enemy like a 40-metre mechanical bull, delivering devastating close-range attacks with a preposterous loadout of melee weaponry.
This is a really cool-looking version of the Warmaster, and don’t worry, there are still knee and shoulder guns! Obviously, this one is a melee-focused version and we can only imagine the type of damage a sky scaper-sized chainsword will do.
On its left arm, you can equip either the Krius siege drill or Krius grav imploder. The former is simple – a massive drill designed to crack fortifications, handily mounted within an enormous claw.
The grav imploder, however, is a device from a lost age, barely understood by the reckless Tech-Priests who now sanction its use. Through means unknown, the grav imploder concentrates gravity into a beam that turns the mass of an enemy against itself. This curious weapon can effortlessly implode a Titan into a heap of molten slag or crumple a Knight like an empty tin of corpse starch.

If you haven’t played Adeptus Titanicus yet, it’s actually a really fun game to get into.
New Necromunda House Greim

The Krieg Mester offers tactical advice to gang leaders and oversees the testing of the latest Greim weaponry. Sometimes, their cunning plans even actually work on the field of battle. And while they may not know exactly what they’re doing, they certainly look the part.
Despite his alleged lack of tactical insight, the Krieg Mester is still pretty handy with his power sword, and that bionic leg is a testament to the fact that he must have seen action of some variety.
New Necromunda: Klovis the Redeemer & Deacon Malakev

In the heat of battle, he’s been known to open it and read out some of the horrific things he’s done to scare off his foes.
Anyone who can wield an eviscerator one-handed is scary in his own right, then you add in the fact he can just make enemy fighters flee by reading out how he’s going to torture them, this becomes quite the frightening mini!
Against weak-minded enemies, this is going to be a seriously annoying ability. He’s not coming to the game by himself though, he has quite the sidekick!

Not sure how he will perform combat-wise, but having a model who can take all the range attacks from Klovis is pretty cool!
Necromunda Roadmap Revealed

First up, we’ll be getting new weapons and upgrades coming fairly soon, which is always nice, but Q4 is what really has our attention! They don’t really give much away here, but there are still some gangs we could see. Maybe we see the return of Ratskins?
Blood Bowl Anfingrimm

GW Finally Gave us a Plastic Thunderhawk (Sort of)

The Eldar Aircraft

New Box Set

If you’ve been looking to get into the game but weren’t a fan of the current factions, this is a good way to get into it.
In the meantime, what new releases do you think we’ll see from GW in 2021 that didn’t make this roadmap? What release are you most excited about?
