Leagues of Votann Release Wave

leagues of votann codex and new models painted product shot

Ready to squash some bugs? GW just dropped a massive wave of 10th Edition reinforcements for the Leagues of Votann, and it’s packing some serious heat.

We’re talking big guns, mean-looking combat robots, a fresh codex, and plenty of rule changes to make the Tyranids rethink their life choices. If your Kin have been gathering dust, now’s the time to get them back on the table.

Votann Army

  • Arkanyst Evaluator: A powerful “mad scientist” lone operative packing anti-armor firepower with an experimental transmatter inverter weapon.
  • Memnyr Strategist: A cybernetic Ironkin HQ who grants tactical buffs and manipulates the army-wide “Yield Points” resource.
  • Ironkin Steeljacks: Elite, resilient infantry nearly twice the size of Kin, capable of both melee and ranged roles—comparable to Wraithguard-style units.
  • Cthonian Earthshakers: New artillery with mole-cannon effects—burrowing explosives detonating beneath enemies for cinematic impact..
  • Kapricus Defender & Carrier: A dual-purpose vehicle: Carrier transports troops, while Defender offers mobile firepower for rapid response.
  • Buri Aegnirssen: Legendary lone operative, a Tyranid survivor with fierce melee prowess and a special “get‑back‑up” ability on a 2+.
  • Combat Patrol Box: A starter set aimed at new players; although it doesn’t include the new units, it’s a solid entry point.
  • New Codex & Mechanics: Introduces fresh lore, five detachments, and the “Yield Points” mechanic—rewarding objective control with escalating defensive bonuses.

5 New 40k Space Marine Characters & Combat Patrols!

new space marine character product shots from big summer preview

  • Vulkan He’stan is back and looking tough as nails. His new sculpt shows off every battle scar from his endless relic hunts. Armed with the Spear of Vulkan, Gauntlet of the Forge, and Kesare’s Mantle, he buffs flame and melta weapons and shrugs off wounds with a 4+ Feel No Pain when holding objectives.
  • Darnath Lysander is still rocking that classic thunder hammer, storm shield, and a giant Imperial Fists icon on his chest, just in case anyone forgot who’s boss.
  • Aethon Shaan takes the spotlight for the Raven Guard, stepping up as Chapter Master after Shrike. His model oozes Raven Guard style—feathered cloaks, talon armor, bird-skull bling—and you get three head options to suit your vibe.
  • Caanok Var shows up as peak Iron Hands: more machine than man. His mini is loaded with bionics and a massive power tetsubo, perfect for smashing anything unlucky enough to stand in his way.
  • Suboden Khan roars in for the White Scars, tearing across the battlefield on a grav-bike armed with an onslaught gatling cannon. He’s all about speed and hitting hard before the enemy even knows what hit them.

Five fresh Combat Patrols make it dangerously easy to jump right into 40k. Each box is tailor-made for its chapter’s style: whether you want to burn everything, sneak through the shadows, or crush your foes like a mechanized freight train, there’s a patrol with your name on it.

new space marine combat patrols

  • The Salamanders Combat Patrol is all about turning up the heat—packed with meltas and flamers for setting the table on fire, literally.
  • Imperial Fists bring a brick wall to the fight, leaning into that classic fortress mindset with a Terminator-heavy, defensive loadout perfect for grinding opponents down.
  • Raven Guard’s Patrol is built for hit-and-run mischief, loaded with sneaky jump-pack units that strike fast and vanish before anyone can retaliate.
  • Iron Hands go full machine mode, focusing on tough, hard-hitting units that laugh off damage and keep the guns blazing.
  • White Scars bring speed and aggression to the front, with Outriders, Assault Intercessors, and an Impulsor for maximum mobility and chaos. Bonus: Suboden Khan is only in this box at launch, so if you want him, you gotta grab it!

Strike Force Variel brings: Space Marine Warhammer Heroes

wahammer heroes dark angels painted minis and product box shot

The Dark Angels Space Marine Warhammer Heroes set is another blind buy collection, which means: surprise! You won’t know who you’re getting until you open the box.

There are seven different miniatures in total, each accompanied by its own Kill Team data card (available in English, German, and Japanese).

Captain Centos

Captain Centos 4The new Primaris Captain Centos isn’t some lazy Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine reprint from 2016. He’s still striking that hero-pose like he owns the tabletop, cloak flapping like it’s caught in a hurricane of style, bolter ready to ruin someone’s day.

You’ve got options too—slap a helmet on him for the “strictly business” look or go barehead if you’re feeling bold. Oh, and that back banner? Still carrying the squad harder than a Dreadnought on leg day.

Imperial Knight Defender

Imperial Knight Defender new product shot painted miniatures

Meet the Knight Defender. It’s basically a stomping relic stuffed with old tech and way too much firepower. It swings a plasma executor for when subtlety isn’t on the menu and a conversion beam obliterator for everything else.

That giant dome on its head? Void shield generator. Blocks incoming fire and throws some cover to its metal buddies. Stylish and helpful.

New Imperial Knights Codex

Imperial Knights 10th Edition Codex new product shot

The Codex: Imperial Knights is back—and yes, it’s still packed with all the rich lore, gorgeous mini galleries, and towering war machines you’d expect. This time around, you’re also getting freshly updated datacards for every unit, plus four full detachments to stomp around in.

Now, if you’re wondering about a shiny new Combat Patrol… sorry, no dice. Instead, they’ve swapped that section for a seriously detailed painting and heraldry guide—ideal for making your knightly titans look as glorious (or menacing) as they deserve.

Lord of Poxes: (Separate Release)

Lord of PoxesWhen a Death Guard champion climbs high enough on the festering ladder of rank, they don’t just get a pat on the back—they adopt one of the Mantles of Corruption. These grim honors, Mortarion’s twisted brainchildren, embody different filthy flavors of warfare, complete with their own grotesque wargear.

You’ve probably already seen the Lords of Virulence and Contagion in action, but now the Lords of Poxes are here to join the party (and it looks like the leaks were true). Armed with a miasmic turbine (because why not?), these rusty contraptions of whirring blades and sputtering engines churn out clouds of airborne contagion to spread the love—or the plague.

Slaughterbound Arrives: (Separate Release)

World Eaters slaughterbound

Khorne’s not subtle, and neither is the new Slaughterbound. Think Eightbound, but even more angry. This towering brute has let a full-on Bloodthirster shack up in his soul, because apparently, regular rage just wasn’t cutting it.

Deploy Sekhetar Robots (Separate Release)

Tzeentch New ModelsTzeentch has ditched subtlety for spectacle, introducing the Sekhetar Robots. These ancient machines are covered in spells and illusions, making them hard to pin down until it’s too late. Arcane weapons? Check. Hellfyre missiles? Absolutely.

Grey Knights Codex Update & Nemesis Dreadknight: Release Date August 9th, 2025

grey knights codex book preview imageAh, the Grey Knights. The secret sauce of the Imperium. Psychic, shiny, and surprisingly chatty for demon-hunters.

Grey Knights DreadknightThe new Codex refresh includes updated profiles, lore updates, and a reworked Nemesis Dreadknight—complete with fresh weapon options like the Nemesis Flail and Nemesis Mace.

Grey Knights Combat Patrol Release Date August 9th, 2025

Grey Knights Combat PatrolThe new Warhammer 40k Grey Knights Combat Patrol is here, and it’s worth taking a look at… but maybe not for the normal reasons.

It’s packed with old units that feel like GW is clearing out its backlog. Either way, this box has hobbyists discussing its contents, release date, and whether it’s worth it for new players, despite veterans not being overly enthusiastic about it.

Battleforce: Sanctic Conclave: Release Date August 9th, 2025

Battleforce Sanctic Conclave

nemesis dreadknight w Nemesis Flail and Sublimator weapon options

Need a strike force? The Sanctic Conclave has you covered. Led by a Grand Master in a Nemesis Dreadknight (now with a flail and Sublimator options), it includes five Brotherhood Terminators, five Paladins, and 20 Grey Knights that can be built into Strike, Interceptor, Purifier, or Purgation squads.

The Black Templar Execrator Release Date August 9th, 2025

a picture of the black templar Execrator mini
The new Black Templar Execrator Chaplain joins the Space Marine lineup as the third distinct Chaplain variant, following the traditional and Judiciar-styled versions. We think it makes sense that the Black Templars—arguably the most zealous of Chapters—would get their own flavor of frontline preacher.

Crusade Ancient Release Date August 9th, 2025

Black Templars Crusade AncientHere’s the real headliner: the Crusade Ancient. A new miniature in the Black Templars range is always welcome—especially when it’s a character model. This one carries a banner, has a stoic pose, and comes with two adornment options: a generic shield or an Ork skull from Armageddon.

Black Templars Codex Supplement Release Date August 9th, 2025

Black Templars Codex SupplementThe new Codex Supplement: Black Templars rolls up flying the Chapter’s proud iconography. This will be a supplement, so similar to the Dark Angels book with lore, detachments, and plenty of new rules inside!

Black Templars Combat Patrol Release Date August 9th, 2025

Black Templars Combat Patrol

Not to be outdone, the Black Templars are storming in to stake their claim as melee royalty.

Inside their new combat patrol is the Emperor’s Champion leading the charge, a full Crusader Squad ready to swarm, a trio of Bladeguard Veterans with their fancy swords and shields, and a squad of Sword Brethren who are exactly as dangerous as they sound.

Want the lowdown on what you’re getting for your hobby dollars? We’ve got your value breakdown right here.

Tyranid Assault Brood Combat Patrol Release Date August 9th, 2025

Tyranids Combat Patrol The new Tyranid Assault Brood is all about speed, claws, and just enough weird bio-trickery to keep opponents sweating. This is the THIRD Combat Patrol box in three years from GW too believe it or not.

Want the lowdown on what you’re getting for your hobby dollars? We’ve got your value breakdown right here.

New Space Wolves Combat Patrol Release Date August 9th, 2025

The new Space Wolves Combat Patrol is also on the way. Sure, we spotted this lurking in the codex, but now GW’s gone and bundled it up properly. Want the lowdown on what you’re getting for your hobby dollars? We’ve got your value breakdown right here.

Inside, you’re getting a solid warband: Wolf Guard Terminators ready to smash, a squad of ten Blood Claws itching to brawl, a Wolf Guard Battle Leader to bark orders, and five feral Wulfen to tear it all apart up close.

Blood Claws: (Separate Release)

Blood ClawsForget patience. Blood Claws are Space Wolves recruits who skipped the stealth and went straight to stabbing. Instead of hanging back like Scout squads from other Chapters, these guys charge first and think second, if at all.

Grey Hunters: (Separate Release)

Grey HuntersOnce the Blood Claws calm down a bit—and survive—they become Grey Hunters. These are your flexible, middle-ground troops. Lighter bolt carbines let them shoot on the move while they close in for the kill.

Think of them as the Swiss Army knife of Fenris. They’re not flashy, but they’re efficient, and the new models look like they’ve seen a few campaigns without losing their edge.

Wolf Guard Headtakers: (Separate Release)

Wolf Guard HeadtakersThis might be the flashiest new unit. Wolf Guard Headtakers are elite veterans who charge headfirst into danger, often with a snarling wolf by their side. They bring the heat in Terminator armor, and their look is pure Space Wolves energy.

Wolf Guard Battle Leader: (Separate Release)

Wolf Guard Battle LeaderHe’s got the vibe of a Lieutenant with the attitude of a pack leader. The Wolf Guard Battle Leader brings some serious tactical flexibility and plenty of style. Multiple loadout options mean you can tailor him to your playstyle—whether you need extra melee punch or buffs.

Wolf Priest: (Separate Release)

Wolf PriestForget the clean-cut Chaplains of other Chapters. Wolf Priests combine the roles of healer and spiritual guide while shouting saga quotes mid-fight through a skull-shaped helmet. They look intense—and that’s the point.

Codex: Space Wolves: (Separate Release)

Codex Supplement Space Wolves collectors and normal edition

First released in the Army Set, the new Space Wolves Codex has everything: background lore, datasheets for 20 unique units, and some serious Fenrisian flavor.

New Logan Grimnar: Release Date July 12th, 2025

new logan grimnar 2025 space wolves

Logan Grimnar isn’t just any warrior—he’s one of the most celebrated legends the Imperium’s ever seen, racking up centuries of glorious service leading the Space Wolves. The High King of Fenris is an absolute unit on the battlefield, flanked by his two monstrous wolves, Tyrnak and Fenrir, and swinging the legendary axe Morkai like it’s an extension of his own fury.

Njal Stormcaller: Release Date July 12th, 2025

Njal Stormcaller

Njal Stormcaller is basically the beating heart of the Space Wolves’ soul, and when it comes to Rune Priests, almost nobody in history can tap into the raw fury of Mother Fenris like he can.

When Njal gets going, he calls down the elemental wrath of the storm itself, whipping up howling winds to shield his allies and blasting his enemies with enough lightning to make the Emperor jealous.

Arjac Rockfist: Release Date July 12th, 2025

Arjac rockfist

The walking mountain of muscle and ceramite known as Arjac Rockfist is basically the High King’s personal wrecking ball, dishing out justice and upholding the Chapter’s honour one crushed skull at a time. When enemy commanders get too cocky, Arjac steps in to settle things the old-fashioned way—with a duel and a swing of his massive Foehammer.

Space Wolves Terminators: Release Date July 12th, 2025

wolf guard terminators new 2025 space wolves

The Wolf Guard who don’t charge into battle as Headtakers get a different kind of honour: they suit up in ancient Terminator armour, decked out with runic carvings and Fenrisian trinkets—sometimes still carrying a little of the old owner’s battle spirit (or at least their fashion sense).

New Space Marine “Primaris” Drop Pod

a picture of the new drop pod with marines

The updated Space Marine Drop Pod now arrives in a convenient twin pack, providing you with two pods in every box! Say goodbye to the Storm Bolter and Deathwind Launcher—previously positioned in a way that raised some eyebrows—and hello to a sleeker silhouette and a more enjoyable building experience!

Plus, this new model comes with optional modular impact debris, perfect for adding that battlefield-carnage flair if that’s your thing!

Chaos Knights Ruinator: Release Date June 21st, 2025

a picture of the Chaos knight ruinator

The new Ruinator looks cool—big, brutal, and draped in the kind of excess only a Chaos Knight can pull off. It brings a darkflame lance, terrorpulse missile launchers, and a Fellbore melee weapon for that signature “overkill with style” approach.

Houndpack Lance Battleforce: Release Date June 21st, 2025

Chaos Knights Houndpack Lance product image for warhammer 40k

Who needs backup when you’ve got seven War Dogs with zero interest in taking orders? The Houndpack Lance is basically the chaos version of a road trip crew—loud, armed, and wildly unsupervised.

If you’re wondering how much bang you’re getting for your buck, we crunched the numbers over here. Spoiler: it’s not bad.

New Chaos Knights Codex: Release Date June 21st, 2025

a picture of the Chaos knight codex

The new Codex: Chaos Knights comes packed with lore, detachment rules, and datasheets. And yes, it’s nice to have your army’s details in one place again—but how long will that last? Since 10th Edition dropped, Knights have had more rule churn than most armies.

Between balance dataslates, core rules updates, and detachment reshuffles, it’s been tough to keep up. Either way, it’s coming to the table with a bunch of new fluff and rules inside.

Chapter Approved Mission Deck 2025: Release Date June 7th, 2025

armageddon

The new Chapter Approved 2025-26 Mission Deck has a release date of June 7th, 2025, and it’s not just a card shuffle—it’s a full-blown rules refresh for Matched Play.

We’re talking about three distinct ways to play: smarter mission setup, tactical comeback mechanics, and, yep, flexible objective markers that won’t slide across the table mid-charge.

If your games have started feeling a bit “copy-paste,” this update flips the table—in a good way. See what’s changing, what’s new, and why your next list build might need a rethink in our breakdown article here.

Chapter Approved Objectives Set: Release Date June 7th, 2025

Objective SetThe deck comes with punch-out objective markers, which are perfect if you’re prone to losing track of your third-party tokens between games.

For the folks who want their battlefield looking sharp, full-size PET material (polymer resin) objective markers will be sold separately. They’re flexible, slick, and built to survive the chaos of transport boxes.

Space Wolves Army Set: Release Date June 7th, 2025

Space Wolves Army BoxGames Workshop just dropped news at AdeptiCon 2025 about the Space Wolves Army Set, and it’s packed tighter than a longship full of ale and chainblades.

This box has fresh miniatures, a new codex with art dripping Fenrisian vibes, and enough bite to keep your pile of shame company for a while. Plus, they gave away a free miniature at the preview as well.

Warhammer 40k 2024 – 2025 Roadmap Armageddon Crusade Book

Crusade ArmageddonThe planet Armageddon has seen more wars than Forge World has recasts, and now it’s under siege from Angron himself. The new campaign book brings 43 pages of narrative meat—no filler, no fluff. Just good old-fashioned daemon-bashing, Grey Knights heroics, and desperate last stands.

Recent Releases From Spring:

Lords Kakophonist: The Sonic Overload

Lords KakophonistNoise Marines are iconic, and the Lords Kakophonist amplify their chaos to deafening levels. Armed with sonic weaponry, these commanders orchestrate an audio-visual nightmare, turning sound into a weapon so powerful it can warp reality itself.

Warhammer 40k 2024 – 2025 Roadmap Flawless Blades:

Flawless blades painted model from preview videoThey’re the embodiment of what happens when vanity meets violence. Legion champions who fully embrace the excitement of close combat transform into Flawless Blades, a shadowy counterpart to the esteemed Palatine Blades of the Great Crusade.

Lucius the Eternal: A Duelist Like No Other

lucius the eternal revaled painted model lvo 2025

The name “Lucius the Eternal” sends chills through even the most hardened opponents. His cursed sword, the Blade of the Laer, is as deadly as his unyielding ego. Whether cutting down enemies or tormenting them with his grotesque whip, Lucius personifies the Emperor’s Children’s obsession with mastery in battle.

Emperor’s Children Codex & New Rules

Emperor's Children Codex

New Warhammer 40k Codex Release Dates Roadmap

40k roadmap for 2025

Now we know what is on the way next from Games Workshop for  Warhammer 40k, AoS, and Old World headed into 2025. Be sure to check out our updated Warhammer 40k Codex Roadmap to see all the latest from the World Championship previews and new products for the community.

Chaos Space Marines, wolves, plague, and psychic fireworks are all wrapped into one spicy Warhammer 40k roadmap for 2025. The Thousand Sons are cranking their warp-factor up to 11, the Space Wolves are clearly hitting the protein shakes, and the World Eaters are sharpening their toys for some proper carnage.

Meanwhile, the Death Guard are still doing what they do best—rotting gloriously and refusing to stay down.

Chaos and Imperial Knights are on deck, and Votann, Slamanders, and Imperial fists are on the horizon, perhaps as part of a Space Marine reboot headed into 11th edition.

“Coming Next”

The Black Templars are practically foaming at the purity seals, the Grey Knights are brushing up on their psychic flexes, and the Knight houses—both holy and heretical—are rolling out the heavy metal in style.

Raven Guard ArtAlright, that’s the last servo-click on this 2025 Warhammer 40k roadmap rundown. Between confirmed goodies for the Salamanders,  Leagues of Votann, and Imperial Fists, and that cheeky little tease that practically screeches Raven Guard, we’re feeling pretty hyped over here in the hobby bunker.

Ashwing Helamites

Ashwing HelamitesThe ash wastes of Necromunda aren’t exactly tourist-friendly—think radioactive sandstorms, Mad Max brawls, and bug-infested badlands. Lucky for the Ash Waste Nomads, they’ve got some seriously nasty pets to keep them company, like the Ashwing Helamites, giant toxic bugs with a taste for trespassers.

Ashwing Helamites 2These bitey sky-bugs swarm on command, thanks to lure-tossing handlers, and they’re way too mean for bug spray to handle. The kit gives you two Helamites, a lure token, and all the bits to make your Nomad look like a proper bug wrangler.

Necromunda Palanite Companions

Palatine CompanionsMuch like the Enforcer Captain, this duo of professional muscle rock some seriously stylish overcoats, complete with plush fur collars and eye-catching helmet plumes.

Of course, looking this sharp comes at a cost; each Companion is thoroughly reprogrammed until their only purpose is guarding their boss. Fashion requires sacrifice, after all. When shots start flying, Palanite Companions happily leap into the line of fire, probably expecting their nobles to cover the dry cleaning bill.

New Palanite Enforcer Haunts

Necromunda Enforcer Haunts

Necromunda’s a nightmare to police, so Lord Helmawr’s Enforcers bring along Haunts; psykers locked in armor that keeps their powers in check. These poor souls are so brainwashed that they probably salute in their sleep. If they snap, their suits make sure they don’t accidentally rip a hole in reality or fry their own squad.

New Palanite Enforcer Captains

New Palanite Enforcers commandersThe new Palanite Enforcer Captains don’t just look like they walked out of a Judge Dredd cosplay contest; they command with authority and a fashion sense that screams iron discipline. Their coats are long, their hats are tall, and their patience for gang activity is nonexistent.

New Enforcers

New Palanite Enforcers troopersWith Enforcer and Subjugator Sergeants backing them up, these guys run precincts like militarized fortresses. Want crowd control? They’ve got it. Want someone sniping from a dark corner with a long rifle and zero remorse? They got that covered, too.

New Palanite Enforcers dogsTwo cyber-mastiffs come in the new release, and they are a terrifying mix of ’80s cartoons, armor, bionics, and “nope.” Perfect for sniffing out contraband or tearing into a Delaque ambush, they’re man’s best friend if you like your friends with steel jaws and murder in their optics.

New Upgrade Sprue

New Palanite Enforcers updgrades

New weapons sprues bring options that make your patrols even nastier. Shock batons, web guns, assault shields, and concussion carbines give Enforcers the tools to shut things down fast.

The Bastion of Law Book

New Palanite Enforcers book

“Necromunda: Bastion of Law” is the rulebook update Enforcer fans have been waiting for. It adds Captain and Sergeant rules, new gang tactics, two fresh scenarios, and even a list for Badzone Enforcers for those who like their justice a little more apocalyptic.
